• Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing or eating food.
• Use leftovers within 3 days of preparing the food.
Return food to the fridge as soon as possible after eating
Use a separate cutting board for raw meat and vegetables.
Use food before the expiry date.
Thoroughly clean your fridge at least 4 times each year.
Use canned and dried food within 2 years of purchasing.
Check your fridge temperature periodically to ensure it is at 4 degrees Celcius.
Keep your lunch in the fridge or bring an ice pack.
Wash your hands after being in the bathroom or public places.
Wash your water jug or water bottle weekly.
Use a different plate to serve cooked meat than the raw meat was in contact with.
Peel or wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly before eating.
Buy organic produce when possible.
Eat well done meat only - especially if it's ground meat.
Avoid raw eggs in protein shakes, Caesar salad, etc.
Throw away expired condiments.
Keep foods cold on a picnic or at the beach in the summer.
Keep your fluid intake adequate.
Follow an immune-boosting diet rich in vegetables and fruits supplying vitamins A, C and E.
