Lowering Your Blood Pressure

Keeping blood pressure healthy is important for reducing your risk of a heart attack. This is especially true if you have diabetes. Here are some tips to lower your blood pressure:
  1. - achieve and maintain a healthy body weight
    - exercise regularly
    - eat more plant foods including fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lentils, legumes, and plant protein like tofu, soybeans, nuts and seeds
    - reduce salt in your meals by choosing lower sodium canned goods, making meals from scratch and using less in cooking
