Prepcipe – Quick and Easy Meal Ideas

  1. A prepcipe is a quick version of a recipe. When you have little time to cook a meal, you can combine 3 or 4 prepared items to make a relatively healthy and balanced meal. Try one of these delicious examples to help get dinner on the table in a hurry:
    - pick up a Deli rotisserie chicken and pair it with a bagged salad, favourite salad dressing and freshly baked whole grain bread
    - bake together frozen fish fillets and pre-cut sweet potato fries and steam a frozen mix of vegetables for a sidedish
    - toss together whole grain pasta, tomato sauce and veggie ground round for protein; serve with a bagged salad
    - choose a bean or lentil soup, cheese and whole grain bread for grilled cheese sandwiches and baby carrots or red pepper strips for a crunchy sidedish
    - pair a frozen or fresh pizza with veggies and hummus and a healthy drink like low fat milk or soy beverage
