Healthier Meals in the New Year

  • Most busy families have 5-10 meals they like to make over and over again.
  • If you’re trying to start the year off eating healthier, instead of looking for all new recipes, take a look at those regular meals you make and identify ways to make them healthier. Some suggestions:

    Switch from white rice or pasta to brown

    Instead of salads with light green lettuce, switch to dark green

    Instead of carrots and celery as the only raw vegetables, try pepper strips, cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes

  • Refresh basic stir fries with a variety of vegetables – broccoli and carrots are great but also try cabbage, peppers, kale and Chinese greens like boy choy.
