Weight Gain

  • Believe it or not, we hear from many people each year who have a desire to GAIN weight
  • It’s not a simple matter of nibbling non-stop or using protein powders
  • Carefully put together 4 food groups in your 3 meals each day like this example meal:

    • A substantial serving of pasta
    • Vegetables and sauce
    • Meatballs or chicken
    • Cheese
    • 2% or whole milk to drink
    • Dessert like rice pudding or custard with fruit
    • Also plan to eat 2 or 3 snacks that include at least 2 or 3 food groups in large portions
    • Make beverages count: not just water – try milk, chocolate milk and higher calorie juices like apricot nectar or grape juice
    • Weight training exercises, getting enough sleep and other lifestyle factors are also important in the weight gain process.
