Weight Gain
- Believe it or not, we hear from many people each year who have a desire to GAIN weight
- It’s not a simple matter of nibbling non-stop or using protein powders
- Carefully put together 4 food groups in your 3 meals each day like this example meal:
- A substantial serving of pasta
- Vegetables and sauce
- Meatballs or chicken
- Cheese
- 2% or whole milk to drink
- Dessert like rice pudding or custard with fruit
- Also plan to eat 2 or 3 snacks that include at least 2 or 3 food groups in large portions
- Make beverages count: not just water – try milk, chocolate milk and higher calorie juices like apricot nectar or grape juice
- Weight training exercises, getting enough sleep and other lifestyle factors are also important in the weight gain process.
