Baby Food
- around 6 months of age, babies need to begin eating solids – starting with iron-enriched infant cereal
- around 7 months, they can begin eating vegetables and fruit
- commercial baby food is convenient, but pureed or mashed versions of table food are great and offer endless variety
- To make your own baby food vegetables and fruit, select fresh vegetables and fruit, cook and either puree or mash
- To store, freeze in ice cube trays, transfer to freezer bags and store in freezer for 3 months
- Great vegetable choices: weet potatoes, squash, carrots, beans, broccoli, cauliflower and more
- Great fruit choices: apples, pears, peaches, banana, kiwi and more
