Well-Stocked Pantry

  • Although having lots of fresh fruits and vegetables on hand is a key to making healthy meals in short order, so is having a well-stocked pantry with a few basic staples
  • Here’s a quick, healthy dinner you can make with items from the pantry

    • Whole wheat pasta with tuna, olives, fresh green beans and tomatoes
  • Generally, some good pantry staples to have on hand include:

    • Vegetable oil and vinegar
    • Canned tomatoes and tomato paste
    • Canned beans (kidney, chickpeas) and canned fish
    • Some canned fruit – peaches, pears, mandarin oranges
    • Pasta and rice (brown)
    • Oatmeal, flour, sugar, cocoa, baking power, baking soda and vanilla for baking
