Well-Stocked Pantry
Although having lots of fresh fruits and vegetables on hand is a key to making healthy meals in short order, so is having a well-stocked pantry with a few basic staples
Here’s a quick, healthy dinner you can make with items from the pantry
- Whole wheat pasta with tuna, olives, fresh green beans and tomatoes
Generally, some good pantry staples to have on hand include:
- Vegetable oil and vinegar
- Canned tomatoes and tomato paste
- Canned beans (kidney, chickpeas) and canned fish
- Some canned fruit – peaches, pears, mandarin oranges
- Pasta and rice (brown)
- Oatmeal, flour, sugar, cocoa, baking power, baking soda and vanilla for baking
