Flax seed
- Flax seeds are the seeds of the flax plant, also known as linseed, an excellent source of ALA, alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fat
- They make a great option for all, especially anyone who misses out on the omega-3 benefits of fish
- For most benefit, flax seeds must be ground, Use a coffee grinder, blender or even smash the seeds with a rolling pin
- Store in the fridge or freezer and use 2-3 tablespoons each day
- Add to smoothies, pancake, cookie or muffin batter, cereal, rice and casseroles
