On its own, this pizza is a well balanced meal. For an impressive appetizer, cut pizza into mini slices or wedges

Basil and Feta Apple Pizza

10 mL Western Family canola oil 2 tsp
1 small white onion, thinly sliced into rings
250 mL fresh mushrooms, thinly sliced 1 cup
2 B.C. Brand Spartan apples, unpeeled, quartered and thinly sliced
1 Western Family 12 inch thin crust pizza shell
125 mL Western Family tomato sauce 1/2 cup
75 g cooked chicken breast, sliced 3 oz
125 mL Western Family feta cheese, crumbled 1/2 cup
75 mL fresh basil, chopped 1/3 cup

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC).

2. Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and mushroom and sauté for 3 minutes or until soft. Add apple slices and sauté for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from heat.

3. Spread tomato sauce over pizza crust. Top with sautéed mix, chicken slices, feta cheese and basil.

4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
