Chickpea Hummus
This easy hummus is perfect for entertaining. Enjoy it as a dip for toasted pita crisps, gourmet crackers or a vegetable platter.
1 540 mL/19 oz tin, Western Family 1
chickpeas, drained, rinsed
3 garlic cloves, peeled 3
45 mL freshly squeezed lemon juice 3 tbsp
60 mL sesame tahini (ethnic section) ¼ cup
75 mL Western Family plain yogurt 1/3 cup
3 mL ground cumin ½ tsp
1 mL black pepper ¼ tsp
1. Combine first 4 ingredients in blender until smooth.
2. Stir in yogurt, cumin and pepper until well combined.
Makes about 2 cups (500 mL).
