Herbs and spices such as curry, garlic, basil and oregano add flavour to foods without the fat and calories of creamy sauces.

Curried Apple and Shrimp Wraps


1 ripe mango, peeled and chopped
60 mL Western Family light mayonnaise 1/4 cup
1 shallot, peeled
6–8 drops Western Family Louisiana 6–8 drops Hot Sauce
3 mL curry powder 11/2 tsp
250 g cooked shrimp 1/2 lb
2 B.C. Brand Spartan apples, unpeeled and diced
1 avocado
30 mL fresh lemon juice 2 tbsp
6 Western Family tortilla wraps (23 cm/9 inch)

1. In blender or food processor, combine mango chunks, mayonnaise, shallot, hot sauce and curry powder until smooth.

2. In large bowl, combine shrimp and apples. Add mango curry sauce and toss until well mixed.

3. Mash avocado and lemon juice. Spread on wraps.

4. Spoon in curried apple mix and roll to seal. Cut in half diagonally to serve.

Note: Refrigerating for up to 2 hours before serving, makes the wraps more stable.
