What is bubble packing?
Bubble packing is designed to eliminate confusion and allow you to keep track of your medications. The capsules and tablets are organized into 4 different time slots (morning, noon, evening and bedtime) and placed into blisters on a card. Each card can hold a seven day supply of medications. When it is time to take your medications, simply punch out the contents of the blister. You no longer have to worry what medications you need to take and when to take them. If you do not remember taking a dose, simply check the card to see if you have missed any doses.

Why bubble - packing?
Bubble packing helps you take your medications in the proper way. Taking medications incorrectlyis a major concern, accounting for:
• up to 10% of all hospital admissions.
• approximately 25% of all hospital admissions among the elderly.
• approximately 23% of all nursing home admissions.

What are some limitations of
bubble packing?
Bubble packing is ideal for medications that need to be taken on a regular basis. It is not suited for medications that a doctor has prescribed to be taken only as needed. In addition, this system is not suited for liquids, refrigerated items, etc.

Who might benefit from bubble packing?
It is important that the medication your physician prescribes is taken precisely as directed. Many people take more than one medication, either prescription or over-the-counter, and live active and busy lives. Sometimes we forget to take our medications or find ourselves wondering if we've taken our medication. If you find yourself in this position, you might benefit from bubble packing.

The following people may benefit from bubble packing:
• People with a complicated medication regimen (4 or more medications).
• Individuals with certain mental or physical conditions (Alzheimer, visual impairment etc.).
• Patients with a history of lack of compliance; this system is filled, labelled and sealed in the pharmacy.
• Individuals who are under the care of a caregiver (nurse, family etc.)
• People who live busy lives.
