CITRUS DREAMSICLE SMOOTHIE

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • ½ large grapefruit peeled and seeds removed
  • 1 medium orange peeled
  • Juice of ¼ of lemon
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1Tbsp honey
  • 1 cup ice

Directions

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Tip: For a greater protein boost you can also add 2 tbsp of plant based vanilla protein powder or hemp hearts or chia seeds. You can substitute fresh fruit with frozen.

DIETITIAN’S TIP: Grapefruit has a low glycemic index which means it doesn’t cause spikes in blood sugar like other sweet foods can. This makes it a great option to add in a fruit smoothie!
