First, what is Galentine’s Day?
Galentine’s Day is a fictional holiday created by Leslie Knope in a 2010 episode of “Parks and Recreation” that falls on Feb. 13 (Valentine’s Day Eve) every year. It is a time for celebrating the best women in your life.
So now we know, let’s plan the perfect day.
There are so many options to spend the day with your Galentines. From Spa Days to Wine tasting, here are some fun ideas to try.
Grab your gals and either visit your neighbourhood spa, head downtown to the ultra-chic spa or host your own in the comfort of your home. Plan facials, manis, pedis or even a fun, outrageous make-over.
Gals love wine. Head to a winery (make sure you hire a driver) or even better, have your gals bring their favourite wine to your home. Set up a tasting table and start sharing. Everyone’s tastes are different so you may find a new fave. Explore the widest selection of BC VQA wines at participating Save-On-Foods locations.
Host a Potluck Dinner Party
Show off those Master Chef skills! Get fancy, dress up and bring your best dish forward. Another fun and tasty spin is a Charcuterie board challenge! Yum!
Let them eat cake. Have a bake-off with your gals and vote to see who wins for most creative and best tasting. FYI-calories don’t count on Galentine’s Day.
Take your favourite gals to the latest movie release or again, pick 3 of your faves and have your gals over. Ask your gals to pick the movie night theme. It doesn’t have to be traditional, get creative! Don’t forget the popcorn and treats.
We all miss spending time with our gals. Have a slumber party and do it all, yoga, games, wine tasting, bake-off. Remember, no one sleeps at a slumber party.
Get a Group Photo
You’ll have it forever. Take your gals for lunch and book a photographer. Capture the moments and everyone can make a photo album. You will have a beautiful keepsake.
Happy Galentine’s Day!
