Mayan Chocolate and Fruit Open-Faced Sandwiches

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Western Family Cream Cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Western Family Plain Greek Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) icing sugar
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) Western Family Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) Western Family Real Whipped Cream
  • 4 Mayan Chocolate Mini Loaves (see recipe)
  • 2 cups (500 mL) sliced pears and strawberries
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) toasted sliced almonds
  • Eagle Brand® Dulce de Leche Caramel Flavoured Sauce (optional)

Directions

  1. Greek Yogurt Cream Cheese Dip: In bowl beat cream cheese, yogurt, icing sugar and vanilla until smooth. Fold in whipped cream.
  2. Slice mini loaves in half horizontally; place 2 halves on a plate. Spread each with 1 tbsp dip. Top each with sliced pears and strawberries, and sprinkle with almonds. Drizzle with dulce de leche, if desired.

Tips:

  • Lighten up by using non-fat plain Greek yogurt.
  • Top with any fruit that is in season or you have on hand.
  • Store extra dip in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Send these loaves to school and pack the yogurt dip and sliced fruit separately.
