Prosciutto, Mozzarella and Pesto BBQ Pizza

Ingredients

  • 2 Bakery Brick Oven Pizza Crusts - thin
  • 1/3 cup (80 mL) pesto sauce
  • 7 oz (200 g) Maple Leaf Natural Canadian Craft Atlantic Prosciutto
  • 8 slices of Western Family Pizza Mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup (125 mL) grape tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 tbsp (30 mL) extra virgin olive oil
  • 8 Western Family basil leaves
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Directions

1. Preheat grill for 10–15 minutes on high heat.
2. If you have a gas grill, turn off one of the burners. If you use charcoal, push the charcoal to one side.
3. Brush the olive oil on each side of your pizza crust. Place the crust on the side of the grill with the burner turned off or without the charcoal.
4. Grill the crust 1 minute per side. Remove from grill. Add pesto sauce, prosciutto, mozzarella and tomatoes and return to grill for 5 to 8 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden.
5. Remove from heat and scatter with the fresh basil leaves. Enjoy!

Hint: You can add roasted red peppers and mushrooms to this pizza too.
