Ingredients
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup water
2 oz fresh ginger peeled and sliced thinly
2 oz bourbon
1 oz ginger syrup (made with first 3 ingredients)
1 oz freshly-squeezed lemon juice

Directions

To make ginger syrup:

  • Combine all three ingredients in a large microwave-safe measuring cup or bowl and microwave for 2 minutes, or until sugar dissolves completely with a quick stir. Let stand at room temperature for one hour.

To make a cocktail:

  • Stir bourbon, ginger syrup and lemon juice together in a glass. Add a handful of ice and top with a splash of sparkling water.
