Homemade BBQ Chicken Marinade
This easy, home-made BBQ chicken marinade can be made well in advance giving you more time to enjoy your barbeque. Serve it with a refreshing salad for a deliciously healthy meal.

Homemade BBQ Chicken Marinade

Ingredients
Approx. 1.5 lbs of boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
2/3 cups ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp light brown sugar
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp ground cumin
1 clove garlic
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions
- Finely grate the clove of garlic.
- Combine all the ingredients for the marinade listed above including the grated garlic in a large plastic resealable bag.
- Add the chicken breasts or thighs to the bag.
- Squeeze out the air and seal the bag.
- Gently massage the marinade into the chicken by rubbing the outside of the bag with your hands.
- Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours or overnight if possible.
- Preheat barbeque to medium heat and grease grill.
- Remove chicken from the bag and place the chicken around the sides of the grill.
- Grill covered over this indirect heat for 20 to 25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 170°F (77°C) and looks slightly charred.
- Let the chicken rest for five minutes before serving.
