Get the Shot - not the flu

Take your best shot against the flu.

Our pharmacies help keep our communities healthy through cold and flu season with in-store and off- site flu vaccinations.

Who should get the flu shot?

According to Health Canada, everyone over six months old should receive the flu vaccine every year. It is especially important for the following to receive their flu vaccination: • Pregnant women • People 65 years and older • People with chronic health conditions (cancer, diabetes, heart, lung, or kidney disorders) • Aboriginal peoples • People who work with vulnerable individuals or capable of transmitting the flu virus (schoolteachers, healthcare workers, essential community services)

Why should I get the flu shot?

Getting a flu shot protects not just you, but also those around you. By taking measures to reduce your chances of catching the flu, you also avoid passing it on to those close to you.

Fluzone® High Dose – Seniors 65 years and older

Health Canada recommends enhanced influenza vaccines for adults 65 years and older due to their higher risk of severe illness, hospitalization, and even death from the flu virus. Fluzone High Dose* is a quadrivalent flu vaccine that covers four strains of the flu virus and has 4 times the concentration than standard flu vaccines; this is intended to give a better immune response and protection for this population group.

(*Public coverage for FLUZONE® High-Dose will vary between provinces. See your pharmacist for details)
