Chocolate Strawberry Holiday Decoration

This fun and simple Christmas treat made with strawberries and chocolate will for sure be everyone's favourite this holiday season!

Chocolate Strawberry Holiday Decoration

Ingredients
16 strawberries, washed with leaves and stem removed
2 bags of Western Family white chocolate flavoured melting wafers
Western Family milk chocolate flavoured melting wafers
4 colours of food colouring
Mini Reese’s peanut butter cups
Directions
  1. Melt white chocolate in microwave per package instructions
  2. Divide into four bowls and mix in one drop of food colouring per bowl*
  3. Dip four strawberries in each colour of chocolate, being sure to tap off excess for a smooth coating, and
  4. Allow to cool on parchment paper
  5. Melt milk chocolate in microwave per package instructions and add chocolate to piping bag
  6. Attach a reese’s peanut butter cup to the top of each strawberry bulb using piped chocolate
  7. Pipe a chocolate wire on your serving tray and arrange strawberry bulbs along wire
  8. Admire and enjoy!

 

Tips and Tricks

*Some types of food colouring may make your melted chocolate seize up a bit. In this case, a touch of melted coconut oil will help get your smooth, melted consistency back!

If you don’t have a piping bag, a small ziploc bag with a small hole in the corner works great!

Sprinkle each chocolate strawberry with granulated sugar for extra sparkle.
