Ingredients
1.5 lbs ground beef
1 orange, juiced (¼ cup)
1 head broccoli
2 cups Western Family jasmine rice
¼ cup Western Family soy sauce
¼ cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp sesame oil
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp fresh ginger
toasted sesame seeds
sliced green onion
zest of orange
Directions
  1. Cook the rice
Cook the Western Family jasmine rice according to package directions. Set aside and keep warm.
  2. Prep the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, cornstarch, garlic, ginger, and orange zest until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Cook the beef
Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and fully cooked (about 5–6 minutes). Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Add the broccoli
Add the broccoli florets to the skillet with the beef. Cook for 3–4 minutes, stirring often, until the broccoli is tender-crisp.
  5. Add the sauce
Pour the orange sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir well to coat everything evenly. Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky.
  6. Serve
