Ingredients
2/3 cup butter
1c. sugar
2 Western Family eggs
1 ¼ tsp salt
1tsp flavouring
3tsp. baking powder
2 ½ cups of flour

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Dough
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
    • Add the flavouring (e.g., vanilla or almond extract) and mix until combined.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the salt and baking powder.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
  4. Roll Out the Dough
    • Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thickness.
    • Use cookie cutters to cut out desired shapes, then place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
    • Allow the cookies to cook on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
