Mummy Calzones

1. Preheat oven to 400ºF (200ºC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Lightly flour your surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry block into a rectangle. Cut it into three equal parts.
3. Take two of the thirds and cut each in half, making 4 rectangular pieces—these will be your mummy bases. Use the remaining third to cut into thin strips—these will be the “bandages.”
4. Assemble the calzones:
- Spread a spoonful of pizza sauce on each rectangle, leaving about a ½-inch border.
- Sprinkle on vegan mozzarella cheese.
- Add a few slices of the cooked vegan sausage
- Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and optional garlic powder.
- Carefully roll each rectangle up (like a mini log), sealing the edges as best you can.
5. Use the thin puff pastry strips to wrap around each roll, leaving small gaps to mimic a mummy’s bandages. Be playful—it doesn’t need to be perfect!
6. Place two sliced black olives near the top of each calzone for eyes.
7. Lightly brush each mummy with oat milk. Transfer to the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20–30 minutes, or until golden brown and puffy.
8. Serve warm with extra marinara for dipping. Perfect fresh out of the oven, or prep ahead and reheat before serving!
